SAN ANTONIO — November 6, 2025 — Great Western Productions today marks the second anniversary of the GWA Worldbook, the company’s ongoing transmedia project building a fully realized alternate history of professional wrestling in the American West. The occasion — observed internally as GWA Day — arrives with the project’s first documented external revenue and two institutional validations from U.S. governing bodies.
Western Wrestling Chronicles, the GWA’s quarterly long-form publication, has been assigned ISSN 3078-831X by the United States Library of Congress, making it officially catalogable by research libraries. Separately, Great Western Productions has been accepted as a member of ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), with Joshua Schairbaum registered as both songwriter and publisher. The ASCAP membership covers entrance themes and original music produced across the GWA’s affiliated fictional record labels.
Those labels are now generating actual income. Fourteen tracks released under four distinct musical personas — Eddie Lamont & Great Western, The Breeze Bros., Mariachi Sleepover, and Tape Drift — are available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms. Royalty payments are being distributed through Rodeo Reverb Records, the project’s music infrastructure entity.
Scale at year two: The GWA Worldbook currently documents 250+ characters across 36 years of fictional promotion history. Forty-three new characters were added in the project’s second year. GWAWrestling.com was rebuilt from the ground up this year to house the expanded roster and storyline archive.
Active production properties include Western Wrestling Chronicles (quarterly print-formatted publication, Issue 2 forthcoming), Wrestling Under Western Skies (Substack), The Sagebrush Sessions (podcast), and Building Western Worlds (live Twitch worldbuilding sessions).
Sun-Bleached Tapes, a parallel transmedia project centered on fictional musician Mick Harper’s 1995 recordings, launched this year as a distinct portal into the same universe, with music available on streaming platforms under the Tape Drift persona.
